- A compatible jailbroken device (currently only the 2G iPhone is supported)
- A Linux PC (this guide is tailored for Ubuntu 9.10 or later). Only Live CDs and native Linux installations can be used (No virtual machines)
- If possible, use a 32-bit version of Linux. You may have difficulty using the pre-built utilities on 64-bit systems.
- Backups of any important data on the device. This is alpha-quality software, so you may encounter a problem that requires a full Restore to fix.

A new blog post claim a new jail break from a group of swiss programmer students they call it as thunderst0rm they had also show the video and promised to release on 23rd April.
That is nothing better so far for the unlocker to have something on hand. Big profiled USA based hacker GeoHOt & MuscleNerd has posted some pic and video so no difference between them so far for the jail breaking & unlocking. all they have only posted some avoidance not the tool so we like to see who is the man. We’ve had numerous reports of new hackers working away on the new iPad Firmware, and even some on the new iPhone OS 4.0 firmware. Musclenerd announced his jailbreak in a day and GeoHot has followed suit with a new exploit and a screen shot.
Geohot tweeted an image of iPhone OS 4.0 (notice the Game Center icon) with blackra!n and Cydia installed only a short while ago. While this is great news, it is also going to push back other hackers/jailbreakers in releasing their exploits, simply due to the fact that GeoHot’s exploit is different than theirs and the “spirit” hack.
This is great news for all of us, and I for one cannot wait to get iPhone OS 4.0 installed and Jailbroken!

In the video above, Eric McDonald, better known as “MuscleNerd” of the iPhone Dev Team, demonstrates an iPhone running OS 4 with Cydia & VNC installed.
Cydia is the underground app store only accessible with jailbroken iPhones — that is, iPhones that have been hacked with software to free them of some of Apple’s restrictions. Some third-party developers have opted to distribute their software through Cydia after their apps were rejected by Apple.
In light of Apple’s new iPhone developer agreement, Adobe developers might just have to turn to Cydia to get their apps onto the iPhone. Apple’s revised agreement stipulates that iPhone apps must be originally coded with Objective-C, the language used in the iPhone SDK. That implies Apple will reject any app coded in a different language and automatically converted into a native iPhone app. The new rule is especially bad news for Adobe, who is touting a tool called Packager for the iPhone, which enables Flash developers to easily port their software into iPhone apps.
Apple will release iPhone OS 4 this summer for iPhone and iPod Touch customers. For iPad owners, the OS will be available fall.

MSFTGuy and PushFix fixed the Blacksn0w for firmware 3.1.3. Unofficial patched version of blacksn0w is available on Cydia repo. This modified version of blacksn0w adds support for phones running 3.1.3 with 05.11.07 baseband (phones upgraded with PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze).
You can add this repo – http://cydia.pushfix.info/ and install the Blacksn0w RC2 package. Also, read the important instructions given for Blacksn0w – Link
Please note that this tool is still available in RC version and its final version is yet to be released. So, use it at your own risk!

How to make iPhone 3.1.2 to 3.1.3! Manual for do it Manually
iTunes always bug the
iPhone & iPod user when a new version came and the upgrade may cost lose your fun or even to using your device. So when u need to stop bugging yourself you need to fake the the version of the software.There are few of apps to fake the iPhone firmware version but some of u might mind to have the app on your iPhone to see everyone. Some tweaks can change the version information just on 1 click but keep some hidden trace and removing those apps might cause your iPhone unstable.
So I like to make this manually
To do that u need to do the ssh via winscp or can use ifile.
Go to /system/coreservices/ and edit the file SystemVersion.plist as shown below.
Then save the file and reboot your iPhone / iPod. to check if it is working go to Setting>General> About

Dev Team releases Jailbreaking tool 3.1.5
The Dev Team has just released an update to PwnageTool. The newest version is 3.1.5 and it will work on Apple’s latest firmware update 3.1.3 however, for the moment this PwnageTool (3.1.5) is only available for the Mac OS X.PwnageTool 3.1.5 will allow you to create custom firmware so you will still be able to Jailbreak your iPhones while enjoying the newest 3.1.3 update.
If you plan on using the newest PwnageTool to jailbreak your 3.1.3 updated iPhone, I reccomend make sure to visit the Dev Team official site for more details before trying it out.
Note: Till today neither of the Jail breaking is supporting blacksn0w
Jailbreaks iPhone OS 3.1.3 : blackra1n & ultrasn0w Can Still Unlock
Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 can jailbreak iPhone 2G, 3G and iPhone 3GS (old bootrom only) on iPhone OS 3.1.3. Baseband 04.26.08 can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w. If your baseband is 05.11.07, GeoHot's blacksn0w will work just the same as it did before. (That was released last year But No unlock for the latest Baseband 05.12.01)
For those of you that have never used any of these programs, please don't try can call iKing (+8801713031130) if assistance needed.
Note: We have tested this method on 2G 3G but 3Gs not at hand at this moment.

Hidden Features Of iPhone Firmware 3.1.3
As you already know Apple release iPhone firmware 3.1.3 today, but the changelog they offer is not satisfying or worthwhile at all. Pretty much they didn’t make you update in the first place. Anyway, we still manage to jailbreak it, and above all that it seems that there are some hidden features that Apple didn’t advertise.
The update also reportedly resolves an issue where third-party applications would not launch in some instances. It also addresses a bug that could cause applications to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard.
iPhone OS 3.1.3 also includes a number of security updates related to CoreAudio, ImageIO, Recovery Mode and WebKit. Full details are available in the support document on Apple’s Web site.

HOW TO: Put The iPhone In DFU Mode And Jailbreak, Even If Your Home Or Power Button Is Broken
As you know, to get into DFU you must press the two buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds, but some times one of the two buttons will break. An alternative to jailbreak without having to go into the DFU mode is to use Blackra1n. However, if the iPhone freezes and you need to restore the firmware to do it again, this guide will come back again very useful.
What you need:
- original Apple firmware
- BetterZip on Mac or WinZip on Windows (or something similar, your choice)
How to do it:
1. Create a copy of the original apple firmware and change the file extension from .ipsw to .zip
2. Unpack the .zip file to view its content. Navigate to Firmware > all_flash
3. Inside you will get two folders ( all_flash.m68ap.production and all_flash.n82ap.production ) and both of them will contain various files. The ones you are interested in are:
- LLB.m ** ap.RELEASE.img3
- applelogo.xxx.img3
NOTE: asterisks stands for 68 or 82 – depending on the folder. “xxx” is a different number for each device.
4. Delete the LLB.m ** ap.RELEASE.img3 file in both folders and rename the applelogo.xxx.img3 file to LLB.m ** ap.RELEASE.img3
5. Save everything and rename the file back from .zip to .ipsw
6. Connect your iPhone or iPod Touch to your computer, open iTunes and click the “Restore” button while holding down the Alt key if you’re using Mac (Shift key if you’re on Windovs).Now browsed for the modified .ipsw and restore your device with it.When iTune is done restoring your device with the custom firmware, your iPhone/iTouch will load directly into the DFU mode and now you can restore with a custom jailbreake firmware.
So basically what you are doing here is, making LLB (which is not there) invalidate iBoot which causes it to go into a DFU loop. (thx iH8sn0w for your input)

The CoreAudio patch prevents "maliciously crafted" MP4 audio files from wreaking havoc, such as terminating programs or running rogue code. The ImageIO fix blocks malicious TIFF images from performing similar voodoo when users view them.
The Recovery Mode update prevents someone with physical access to a locked iPhone or iPod touch from bypassing the passcode and accessing your data. It corrects a memory corruption glitch in the handling of a USB control message that allowed the security breach.
WebKit gets two patches. One corrects an HTML 5-related problem that may cause mail to load remote audio and video files when remote image-loading is turned off. The second blocks WebKit from accessing a malicious FTP server.
The minor upgrades in iPhone OS version 3.1.3 correct a bug that causes apps to crash when using a Japanese Kana keyboard, and improve the accuracy of battery-level reporting on the iPhone 3GS.
